If you bill your clients by the hour, in your line of work, it should be obvious that you need to keep a close eye on the clock. An easier way is to use special software to keep track of how much time you spend on a project. Timesheets Lite can satisfy all your needs, due to its time tracking capabilities and its various features for billing clients precisely. You can use the application to manage your clients, as well as your employees, and create detailed reports and invoices. In this way, you can bill your clients accurately, according to your prices and how much time you spend working.

The software can be downloaded and installed rapidly. You can use its trial version, free of charge, for 30 days, without any limitations. Alternatively, you can opt for an older version, which is free, but it does not include as many features as the current one. The system requirements are low and you can run the program on all popular Windows editions.

Before using the application, you will have to go through its initial configurations. Inexperienced users can opt for the software's default settings. Thus, they only need to specify their names and type a new password. It is also possible to create a sample project, employee, customer and activity, so you can get a better idea on how Timesheets Lite works. When you are done with the configurations, you can use your name and password to log in.

The software will record how much time you spend on certain projects. You can manage projects, common activities, customers and employees on a separate window. When adding activities and customers to your database, you just need to specify a name and a description. Adding an employee involves typing his name, abbreviation, selecting a security level and creating a password. After creating an employee, he can use the specified credentials to log into Timesheets Lite.

Creating a project requires adding more information, under separate tabs, but it will not take too long. Besides typing its name, number and description, you will need to select a client, a creator and a manager. You may also specify financial details, like the purchase order value, the project's budget, for labor, expenses and travel, as well as the hourly rate and other similar details.

If your database contains all the information you need, you can start timing one or more projects. Clicking an Add button, on the main interface, will bring up a small window where you can select a project and a common activity, add a description and specify if the added time is billable or not. You can either tick an option, on the same window, to start timing or add your own time interval in hours. In both cases, the software will calculate how much you earn, according to your recorded time and financial details. When the project is complete, you can use the recorded information to generate detailed reports and create invoices.

Pros

Timesheets Lite lets you insert various information, including financial details. Using this information, the software will automatically calculate how much you earn for specific projects. You can manage the data and time you work without any difficulties, thanks to the software's user friendly interface.

Cons

It is not possible to create new employee accounts on the log in screen. While using Timesheets Lite, you will be able to accurately record how much time you spend on your projects and bill your clients accordingly.
